Vidéo à la demande par abonnement : la SACD et l'ADAGP signent un contrat avec NETFLIX
La SACD et l’ADAGP ont conclu ce jour un contrat d’autorisation avec le service de vidéo à la demande par abonnement NETFLIX pour son activité sur les territoire français, belge et luxembourgeois dont le lancement est prévu en septembre.Ce contrat autorise NETFLIX à utiliser les répertoires de la SACD et de l’ADAGP au titre de la mise à disposition d’œuvres cinématographiques et audiovisuelles dont l’exploitation a été préalablement autorisée par leur producteur ou distributeur. Il permettra d’assurer au bénéfice des auteurs une rémunération effective correspondant à l’utilisation de leurs œuvres conformément à la mission dont sont investies les sociétés d’auteurs.
L’accord garantit une stricte égalité de traitement du droit d’auteur entre toutes les plateformes présentes sur le marché français.
Les signataires souhaitent que le développement de la vidéo à la demande par abonnement contribue à élargir l’accès du public aux œuvres cinématographiques et audiovisuelles françaises et européennes, récentes ou plus anciennes, et l’incite ainsi à se détourner des sources illégales.

Subscription video-on-demand : the SACD and the ADAGP sign an agreement with NETFLIX
The SACD and the ADAGP have signed as of today an authorization agreement with the subscription video-on-demand service provider NETFLIX for its activities on the French, Belgium and Luxembourgish territories, to be launched in September.
This contract authorizes NETFLIX to use the SACD and ADAGP’s repertories in order to make available works which Netflix have licensed from producers and distributors of film & television content. This will allow to ensure that authors receive an actual remuneration for the use of their works, in accordance with the collecting societies’ assignment.
The agreement guarantees a strict equal treatment of copyright between all of the existing platforms on the French market.
The signatories wish that the development of subscription video-on-demand contributes to grow public access to French and European cinematographic and audiovisual works, recent or older, and encourages the audience to turn away from illegal sources.
